ASP Announces Women’s Event at Trestles
The Association of Surfing Professionals announced today that Lower Trestles will be added as a venue to the WCT schedule.
Starting in 2014, the event will run at the same time as the men’s Hurley Pro at Trestles next September.
“Lower Trestles is one of the most high-performance waves on the planet, and we’re absolutely thrilled that the world’s best female surfer will be here in 2014,” said Jessi Miley-Dyer, ASP Women’s Tour Manager in a press release.
While sponsorship for the even hasn’t yet been nailed down, The Hurley Pro at Trestles has been supportive. “Trestles is a tremendously rippable wave,” said Hurley’s VP of Marketing, Pat O’Conell. “I think the world’s best female surfers are really going to turn heads out there next year.”
