Rip Curl Europe names new head of surfwear
On July 1st, 2013, Henri Rodriguez took up his new role at Rip Curl Europe as Head of the Surfwear division. Henri is a veteran of the surf industry seeing that up until recently he held the same post at Billabong.
"I am really happy to be joining Rip Curl, a global brand with strong human values and great energy. Its authenticity and identity offer many possibilities for developing products. I also think that the recent appointment of Wilco Prins as CEO Europe sends out a strong message for the industry and for our generation", explains Henri Rodriguez.
"I'd like to simplify the brand's approach to align it with the realities of the surf market. We are also going to concentrate on the strong points of Rip Curl, namely quality, innovation, authenticity and comfort", stated Henri Rodriguez.
"Henri is joining our team with a vision that is totally in line with what is defined in our action plan. Our mission is not only to be consistent, creative and surf-focused in our lifestyle products, but also to reinforce that we are the technological leader in boardshorts, swimwear and jackets ", explains Wilco Prins, CEO of Rip Curl Europe.
Henri Rodriguez's first responsibility will be the winter 2014/2015 men's and women's surfwear collections, including development of the ANTI SERIES line, a technical range of coats, jackets and parkas designed especially for surfers, with the first generation hitting stores at the end of August 2013.
