A Pointbreak On The Great Lakes?
Our bro from the Great Lakes, Burton Hathaway, recently scored this undisclosed gem of a wave somewhere in Minnesota. Burton and a few friends drove up from Wisconsin after spotting a storm on the weather maps that had buoys reading 17.2 feet with a water temp of 45 degrees—downright balmy for those parts. Dubbed the “North Shore of the Great Lakes” this area receives the brunt of Lake Superior swell and is a wild and unpopulated place. Keen to surf the Great Lakes? You better hurry, they’ll be freezing over soon…
