Together, these modern missionaries are warning fellow surfers, authorities and politicians for the hazards in life, environment and society. The surf NGO's are doing a great work.
Christian Surfers International (CSI) was born in 1999 when groups several countries joined together as an international movement. They aim to evangelize the surfing communities of the world, provide a bridge between the church and the beach and network Christian Surfers missions worldwide.
Save The Waves Coalition aims to protect and preserve the coastal environment. The first battle was held in 2001, on the island of Madeira, where a perfect wave was damaged by backwash from the newly altered shore. Surfrider Foundation is one of the best known surf NGO's in the world and it promotes the protection and enjoyment of oceans, waves and beaches through a powerful activist network. Born in 1984, Surfrider takes action in 15 countries around the world.
Waves for Development create life-enriching experiences in coastal communities through educational surf programs. Cultural exchange, environmental conservation, life skills, social entrepreneurship and sustainable tourism are values this surf NGO wants to promote.
