Amazing photo as man surfs wave created by huge tanker on River Tyne
Ignoring warnings of 60mph winds hitting the north east, one brave surfer managed to catch a wave created by an enormous tanker on the River Tyne.
The thrill-seeker was pictured doing his thing next to the City of Rome ship as it sailed past in the background.
The man was taking something of a risk, as the Met Office put out a yellow warning of wind for the east coast of England, suggesting it could experience gales of up to 50mph to 60mph.
They also warned of localised flooding due to wave surges over sea walls.
Strong winds have already whipped up huge waves, battering the coast at Seaburn near Sunderland, as Britain experiences a "short, sharp shock" of colder temperatures after the Indian summer.
But, it seems, nothing will get in the way of this man and his surf.
