Australians aim to break Guinness World Record

The surfing community of North Broulee Beach, in New South Wales, Australia, will try to break the Guinness World Record for the most surfers riding the same wave.

On Australia Day, 26th January, 2014, North Broulee Beach on the South Coast of NSW, will be one of the most crowded surf spots in the world.

But there's a good reason. The local wave riding enthusiasts will try to enter the Guinness World Records, at 9am, near the small town of Broulee.

All the money raised in North Broulee Beach will go to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and the Broulee Surfers Surf Lifesaving Club.

The current record of 110 surfers riding the same wave was set by a large group of surf fans, in Muizenberg Beach, Cape Town, South Africa, back in 2009.
