Big Wave Surfers Take on Hercules at Mullaghmore, Ireland
Hundreds gathered on the beach to watch Hercules barrel into the Irish coast yesterday. The storm that produced daunting and large gold shapes on swell charts has made landfall and if this is the tip of the iceberg, the rest should be interesting. A handful of daring surfers took on the waves at Mullaghmore that measured roughly 30-35 feet. Towing in were Nic Von Rupp (who wore three lifejackets), Tom Butler, Sandy Kerr, Peter Conroy and Kurt Rist.
