One of the reasons why Bali is a popular surfing destination is because there are waves for all levels and experiences. Fast, hollow, mushy and relaxed wave rides can be appreciated in this island.
The best surf spots in Bali are Uluwatu, Padang-Padang, Kuta Reef, Impossibles, Keramas and Canggu. From beginners to professional surfers, there are plenty of wave choices for everyone. Nevertheless, don't expect to surf waves all alone. It can get crowded out there, too.
Uluwatu, in the southern end of Bali, is always pumping waves and gets good conditions with a South swell and Southeast trade winds. Expect 2-to-10 foot waves. It's the most famous wave in Bali.
Padang-Padang is a classic spot. A strong South swell in the dry season will pump outstanding surfing waves. The channel will get you to the line-up. Crowded? Yes, but it is worth it.
Kuta Reef is an offshore wave spot located 800 meter in front of the Sandi Phala Motel. Local boats can get you a ticket to ride joyful 4-foot waves.

Impossibles is a fast and long wave, located between Bingin and Padang Padang. In the dry season, enjoy 4-7 foot faces in a relatively empty line-up.
Keramas, located on Bali's eastern shore and once considered a secret spot, is considered one of the most high-performance waves on the planet. It mixes both barrels and punty sections alike, consistently drawing some of the most talented surfers in the world to its shoreline.
Canggu is as versatile as it is progressive, with very rippable rights and lefts, on Bali's western coast. For decades, both visiting and local surfers alike flocked to Canggu for its mouth-watering lineups and relaxed beach town vibe.
