USA Surf Spots
The United States of America is the world's third or fourth largest nation by total area, so the climate varies across the 50 different states of the country.
That's why there should be considered six climate regions, excluding Alaska, Hawaii and outlying territories: Northwest Pacific, Mid/South Pacific, Midwest, Northeast, Southeast and Southwest.
California enjoys great weather during all seasons. The Northern California is cooler than the Southern California. In the same day, it's almost possible to catch warm sunny waves and free ski in the chilly mountains.
On the East coast of USA, you get a humid subtropical climate in North and Central Florida. This region is always affected by the hurricane season. El Niño and La Niña deeply affect Florida's climate.
The Hawaiian Islands, located in the Pacific Ocean, enjoy warm and gentle trade winds, mild temperatures and sunny skies. It is possible to travel to Hawaii in any month. The small annual variation in temperature range and length of the daylight period makes it perfect for surf tourism.
Surfing is very popular in the USA. There are thousands of incredible and unforgettable surf spots everywhere. If you're in the East coast, the Florida region might be the best choice. Cocoa Beach,Sebastian Inlet, Long Beach (New York) and Cape Hatteras (North Carolina) are iconic surf spots.
California is one of the best surf regions in the world. Huntington Beach, Trestles, Oceanside, Santa Cruz,Mavericks, Rincon, Newport Beach, San Clemente, Malibu have more than 300 days/year of superior surfing conditions and are the best surf spots. The Californian line-up is usually crowded, but there are plenty of top class surf spots in California for everyone to enjoy long rides.
The Hawaiian Islands are theultimate surfing destination. Every surfer dreams of riding at least, one wave, in the paradisiacal islands of the Pacific. There are wave spots for all levels of surfing, from beginner to pro. The best surf spots in Hawaii are Sunset Beach, Banzai Pipeline, Waimea, Hookipa, Jaws,Hanalei Bay, Waikiki, Pine Trees, Log Cabins, Honolua Bay and Kalapaki Beach.
Last, but not least, the Alaska. The US state where you're always freezing has great surf spots, too. Go for it in Kodiak, Yakutat, Sitka and Cordova.
