Venezuela Surf Spots
Venezuela enjoys a tropical weather with a wide range of temperature that can go from 28 °C (82.4 °F) to 8 °C (46.4 °F). The South American country offers a 2,800 km coastline with plenty of exotic beaches and waves.
In Venezuela, sudden heavy rain is quite usual. The warmest month is May and the coldest is January. Fortunately, you are not going to need wetsuits in your Venezuelan surfing sessions.
The most common winds come from NE and the hurricane swell brings world class waves for the most famous right pointbreaks.
Venezuela is becoming very popular when it comes to surf tourism. The country has been hosting several professional surf contests and the local waves have been discovered by the international riders.
The Venezuelan coast is a surfing treasure, despite its Caribbean inspired waves. The Eastern region, near Caracas, might be the best choice if you've got only a few days to discover the best surf spots in Venezuela.
Playa Pantaleta, Punta Care, El Rio, Anare, Fido Point, Puerto Azul, Los Cocos, Tanaguarena and Mamo can be surfed near the capital Caracas.
In the Western region, look for El Playon, Cuyagua and El Malecon. Parguito Beach is a famous surf spots on Margarita Island, while Adicora Beach, in Peninsula Paraguana, is known for its great kitesurfing and windsurfing conditions.
